Grief &
life Transitions
“You don’t have to experience grief, but you can only avoid it by avoiding love. Love and grief are inextricably intertwined.”
David Kessler. Finding Meaning
Grief, Loss & Life Transitions
“There is no grief like the grief that does not speak” (Longfellow) …
There is a reason why people mourn together, sit in uncomfortable silence and bring casseroles – simply put grief must be witnessed. You know that your world has changed, you are on a new path that was not of your choosing. Whatever the loss or life change, you may feel shock, anger, hurt, sadness, relief, despair – so many messy feelings. You may have equally messy thoughts – I should have, they could have, why didn’t they …. People will unintentionally say unhelpful things or maybe nothing at all. They may tell you that you aren’t grieving “right” or that it is time to move on. Whatever you are experiencing, your grief journey is unique and you need supportive people to walk alongside you and bring a road map.
Therapy for grief, loss and life transitions means you don’t have to suffer in silence or bottle up thoughts and feeling without relief and release. It can help you to:
-
Experience the relief of processing and sharing your messy thoughts and feelings in a safe place without judgment
-
Gently challenge any unhelpful beliefs or thoughts that may get stuck creating complications in your grieving process
-
Process any old hurts or experiences that may be making it difficult to grieve fully
Invest in your wellbeing and your future
